We update our information (including classes) while the situation unfolds, as we continually reassess what’s best for the safety of our tribe.
EVENTS
Our North America 2-day workshop tour events in San Francisco and Los Angeles are cancelled. Stay tuned for more information as the situation develops.
CLASSES
Following guidelines for outdoor group class activities in King County, we have re-opened our Saturday morning classes at Volunteer Park. Currently we can have a maximum of five students, so pre registration is required. All Evolve Move Play classes are cancelled until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed about our response, including when classes will resume, on this page and in our newsletter.
SUMMER CAMPS
All Evolve Move Play summer camps for 2020 are cancelled.
But wait…There’s good news!
To respond to the needs of our tribe — including supporting your movement practice during this time — we are shifting more toward online classes! Our Intro to Natural Parkour (INP) course is the first in our lineup to provide you with creative, tangible ways to keep movement alive in your life while your practice may have been disrupted by COVID-19.

Movement Training During COVID-19
Do you want to keep your movement practice alive and sustainable, even during challenging times? We certainly want you to!
And we’re going to help you do just that.
See how we are responding to the situation, what’s available and what’s not, and the encouraging evidence that outdoor exercise is safe (while observing standard precautions). We’ve also developed special remote-learning classes to keep you moving wherever you are. Safely.
Is outdoor exercise safe right now?
There are definite bright spots for the movement community right now, since a growing body of evidence points to outdoor exercise as being extremely low-risk for transmission of the COVID-19 virus – especially versus traditional indoor workout environments like the gym. We can continue our outdoor movement practice safely, while adapting to current global and local occurrences that may be opt to change.
Here are a few links you can review that point to outdoor exercise as a safe way to stay healthy:
- Almost all transmission in China occurred indoors, according to this study: Indoor Transmission of SARS-CoV-2
- How safe are outdoor spaces
- Epidemiologist Mark Lipsitch (one of Rafe’s most trusted sources) weighs in on why parks should remain open.
How do I continue my natural movement practice?
At EMP, we’re now offering remote learning through online courses and online coaching to help you adapt your practice to the current situation. Check out our Intro to Natural Parkour Course (INP) developed with COVID-19 considerations in mind!
