Inspiration 10/15/14 Lateral Freerunning Exploration

Lewie West recently introduced the idea of lateral vs vertical skill development in a podcast with well rounded athlete.

The simply idea here is that without increasing the power, strength or speed neccesary we can move laterally and develop creative movement by exploring variations at a similar difficulty level and that this wide base of movement capacity in basic movements will allow higher levels of movement expression in the long run as well as greater overall creativity

I really enjoyed this video because I felt it showed a great deal of lateral creativity in a free running context, make small variations on common movements to create really unique and interesting sequences.
