This week we are focusing on how Movement Nutrition and the broader subject of movement ecology with world renowned biomechanist Katy Bowman.
Katy is the author of numerous books, blogs, and podcasts on natural movement and related subjects. Her concept of movement nutrition revolutionized my own approach to movement practice and teaching and how I think about natural movement.
In this podcast we discuss:
- How to find the balance in movement. What is the lowest necessary dose of different movement nutrients for health, and when do we reach too much?
- This leads us to the question of how do we even begin to understand all the movement nutrients out there.
- The problem of nourishment, nutrients and stimulants and reductionist vs ecological systems based thinking.
- The importance of different types of visual processing nutrition.
This was a very interesting conversation for me, getting to dig in on some topics we both care deeply about, and whether you’re already familiar with Katy’s work or not you’re in for a treat.
